NWIII aims to make combat similar to how it was during the Napoleonic Wars. You don't see 50 people drop from a 150 man volley 200 yards away. Total War's line infantry combat is a bit arcadey and some liberties were taken when tuning balance and mechanics for the gunpowder games. ![]() Can't speak for La Monte de L'Empire, but I have been a huge advocate for NWIII in every single one of these threads so there might be a bias.
